Trees for Menlo receives The 2003 Menlo Park 
Environmental Quality Award

The award was presented to Trees for Menlo by the City of Menlo Park Environmental Quality Commission  for its "Outstanding Volunteer and Fundraising Efforts to Beautify El Camino Real with the Planting of Trees." (September 23, 2003)

 

 

Trees for Menlo receives The 2002 National
Arbor Day Foundation Lady Bird Johnson Award

The National Arbor Day Foundation has named Trees for Menlo as the 2002 recipient of the National Arbor Day Foundation Lady Bird Johnson Award.

The award was created to honor the work of the former First Lady, who has long been an Honorary Trustee of the Foundation. The award is presented to individuals, groups or organizations whose work sets a worthy example for others to follow in roadside beautification.

The award was presented  to Trees for Menlo April 27, 2002 in Nebraska City, Nebraska, where Arbor Day was founded 130 years ago by J. Sterling Morton.

On May 9, 2002 The City of Menlo Park issued a Proclamation to Trees for Menlo for "...creating a project that will be our gift to the future generations of Menlo Park Citizens."
